PERUVIAN WONDERFUL SOUTH AND IQUITOS JUNGLE

LIMA–PARACAS–ICA–NASCA–LIMA–CUSCO – PUNO– (JULIACA)IQUITOS– LIMA

DAY 01: ARRIVE TO LIMA

At proper time, reception and transfer from the airport to the selected hotel. Free afternoon for personal activities, overnight.

Day 02: LIMA-PARACAS-ISLAS BALLESTAS -ICA-NAZCA

Approx. 06:00 am, departure in private service to Paracas. Transfer to the Pier where our maritime tour begins. We discover the thousands year old Chandelier, a gigantic figure that is alike to the Nazca figures. Before touching the Ballestas Islands, we can see some of the fantastic marine fauna of this place. We see marine wolves, guano birds, Humboldt penguins among others. Finally, we will go to Ica and the city tour begins visiting The Regional Museum. After this, we discover an incredible and wonderful place, the oasis of Huacachina Lagoon, a small paradise indeed in the middle of the arid Peruvian coast, where we enjoy extreme sport as Sandboarding and Buggies. At proper time, we will go in private service to Nazca, overnight. (Cantalloc hotel)

Day 03: NAZCA OVERFLIGHT – LIMA

After breakfast at the hotel, at coordinated time, transfer to the airport to overfly the Nazca lines. The flight lasts approximately 35 minutes. Afternoon at leisure. At a coordinated time, return to your hotel in Lima. Overnight.

Day 04: LIMA-CUSCO: CITY TOUR

After breakfast in the hotel, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Cusco. Arrive and private transfer to the hotel, free morning for acclimatization. At 14:00, the City Tour takes us to the Cathedral, to the Koricancha Temple (Temple of the Sun), through the Inca Streets and colonial plazas. After this, we visit the ruins of Sacsayuaman, the ceremonial centers of Kenko and Tambomachay, and the fortress of Pucapucara. We return to the hotel, aware of been in a very special place of our planet and feeling good.

Day 05: CUSCO-SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS-OLLANTAYTAMBO

After breakfast at the hotel, we leave in private transportation for our excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is 9 o’clock. Our first stopover is at the market place of Pisac. Almost all inhabitants dress their historical dresses. Here, one still can swap instead of using money. We have lunch at Urubamba before visiting the citadel of Ollantaytambo, guided visit to the wonderful fortress. Overnight in this town. (Optional: Pachamama’s Ceremony)

DAY 06: OLLANTAYTAMBO -PISKACUCHO-HUAYLLABAMBA

After breakfast, our route until the km 82 on the railroad to Machupicchu, a place called Piskacucho. We begin the trek and a couple of hours later, we take lunch in Meskay. After a short rest, we continue the trekking until the first camp. The mythological landscapes of the Machu Picchu neighborhood and the sensations one experiments walking through these fabulous surroundings made this famous Inca Trail.

DAY 07: WAYLLABAMBA – WARMIHUAÑUSCCA – PACCAYMAYU.

This is probably the hardest part, with an ascension to the highest point, Warmihuañuscca at approximately 4,200 m, where we’ll enjoy an impressive panoramic view on the valley. We have lunch there and restart for a 12 km descending walk until arriving to Paccaymayu, the choosen place for our supper and camping place.

DAY 08: PACCAYMAYU-PHUYUPATAMARCA – WIÑAY HUAYNA

Our ascension takes us to the second highest point at 3,800 m. We visit the archeological complex of Runkuraccay and Sayacmarca. Now we undertake a long walk to Phuyupatamarca, another interesting archeological site. After lunch and a brief rest we start walking again until arriving at Wiñay Huayna. By the time we finish our visit to this new archeological location, it is dinner time.

DAY 09: WIÑAY HUAYNA-MACHUPICCHU-CUSCO

Last this is the last section of a 4 km walk to MachuPicchu by Inti Punku a point from where the majestic Citadel of Machu Picchu can be perceived. After a brief registry, we visit the sanctuary and next we descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, to take the touristic train back to Cusco, arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 10: CUSCO-PUNO

Breakfast. At 07:00hrs. transfer from the hotel to the bus station , for leave in a special Tourist Service bus to Puno, on the way the bus will stop in some interesting and archaeological places such as: Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, Sicuani; buffet lunch in this place is included ; Pukará ruins. In all the way you will have a tourist guide. After 9 hrs. Arrival, reception and transfer to the selected hotel.

Day 11: UROS AND TAQUILE ISLAND

At 7:00 in the morning, we embark in a motor boat. We first sail to the floating islands of the Uros. These are artificial islands built out of a plant called “totora”, which is a kind of reed. We continue on board of our motor boat, this time in direction of the Taquile Island. We visit this amazing island and have lunch in it. By the end of the afternoon, we are back in Puno. We are transfer to the hotel for a beauty sleep. A lake does not exhaust less than the sea!

DAY 12: PUNO: JULIACA-LIMA- IQUITOS

At proper time, transfer to the airport to depart to Lima. At your arrival in Lima, free hours for waiting your next flight to depart to Iquitos, arrive and reception at the Airport in Iquitos and transfer to the selected hotel. Free day for personal activities, overnight.

DAY 13: IQUITOS-AMAZON RIVER-BREEDING PAICHES-NATIVES YAGUAS

After breakfast at the hotel and a proper time, transfer to our private dock to board the boat fast to Botanical Lodge, on the way we will observe, houseboats, union of the rivers Itaya and the Amazon River, we will make a stop to start the first tour visit to the paiche, observe the largest aquatic plant world „Victoria Regia”, caimans, short break to enjoy a refreshing coconut aguita, drinks, etc Continuing the trip by the Amazon River, upon arrival at the hostel, typical drink, allocation of bungalows. Hiking on the trail of the medicinal plants knowing the one of Cat, sangre de grado, clavo huasca, etc. Typical Lunch. Free time. 15:00 hr: Hike through the jungle until you reach the native community of the Yaguas, get to know their customs, way of life, participation of tourists for the use of the blowgun or pucuna, return to the lodge by boat, on the way we will be able to watch the sunset. Free time to rest. Dinner. Use of the refreshing swimming pool. Night in the Lodge.

DAY 14: GIANT TREE- VISIT TO THE COASTAL HAMLET

Canoe ride or morning walk according to the season, observing birds in their natural habitat. Breakfast. Walk of penetration by the forest of giant trees, knowing the impressive and voluptuous Kapok). Return to the Lodge. Typical Lunch. In the afternoon, tour of the Amazon River and visit to the coastal village of San Juan, where we will know its small school and the everyday life of its inhabitants, plants, fruit trees and plantings of banana, cassava etc. Night canoe ride according to the season, listening to the sounds of the rainforest. Dinner. Night in the Lodge.

DAY 15: GIANT TREE- VISIT TO THE COASTAL HAMLET

Breakfast. Home tour down the Amazon River and visit to Trapiche artisan, demonstration and participation of tourists in the extraction of juice from sugar cane that the inhabitants used to produce derivatives such as sugar cane rum and molasses. Recreational fishing on the banks of the River. Return to the Lodge. Typical Lunch. In the afternoon, observation of the Amazon River, observation of the jungle sunset depending on weather conditions. Dinner and overnight in the Lodge.

DAY 16: VISIT TO THE RESCUE CENTER-PEOPLE OF INDIANA-IQUITOS-LIMA

Breakfast. Time visit to coastal dweller who preserves certain animals such as anacondas of water and earth, sloth bear, sea turtles, parrots, toucans, among others. Return to Botanical Lodge, typical lunch self-service. We started heading toward the city of Iquitos. On the way, we will make a stop in the district of Indiana on the banks of the Amazon, to visit the Plaza de Armas, the Church, Market, Time to walk, shooting and purchase of products from the forest. Time we continue the journey to the city of Iquitos. Transfer to the airport to departure to Lima city, arrive and transfer to the selected Hotel. Overnight.

DAY 17: HOTEL – AIRPORT

At proper time, transfer from your hotel to the airport to take your international flight.
